Zoning Board of Adjustment

The Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) is five member Board appointed for terms of two years by the City Commission. The ZBA is authorized by the Texas Local Government Code Section 211.008, Board of Adjustment. The ZBA is authorized to enforce ordinances related to appeals from alleged errors in the Code Official's decision; interpretations to the provisions of the Unified Development Code; and variances from the standards of the Unified Development Code where exceptional and peculiar hardship would be caused by enforcement of the regulations and where such variance would not substantially deviate from the intent of the UDC.
