Parks and Recreation Board

The Parks and Recreation Board serves in an advisory capacity to the City Commission regarding policy matters pertaining to parks and recreation. The Board consists of nine members appointed by the City Commission and serve one, two, or three year terms. The Board reviews and makes advisory recommendations on parks and recreation programs or activities submitted for approval to the City Commission; promotes and stimulates public interest in parks and recreation by assisting the Public Works Director through direct involvement in parks and recreation policies of the City of Richmond; and reviews and makes advisory recommendations to the City Commission on proposed park acquisitions, additions, and improvements.
