Building and Standards Board

Established by Ordinance No. 2014-11, July 21, 2014

The Building and Standards Board is made up of 5 members and 2 alternates. Board members are appointed for a two year term and expire based on places assigned on odd and even numbered places.

Purpose: This Board hears and decides appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the Building Official relative to the application and interpretation ordinances related to (1) substandard buildings and property; (2) the adopted Electric Code; and (3) the adopted Building Code and related adopted technical codes. The Board also reviews such ordinances and codes and makes recommendations to the City Commission on matters related to such ordinances and codes.
