The boundaries of Beat Six are east of S. 11^th Street, to the Brazos River, and south of the Union Pacific railroad tracks to Austin/Loop FM 762. This area is commonly referred to as the Historic and Old Town Districts of the City of Richmond.

During the month of August, I met with three residents that reside in my Beat.

 I met Jonmichael while patrolling in Beat Six. JONMICHAEL stated he did not have any issues at this time. JONMICHAEL and I then spoke about his day at work and what he does for work. I then gave my JONMICHAEL a business card, and I advised him to email me or give me a call if he has any issues or questions.

I then met Alexis getting flagged down after talking to JONMICHAEL. While talking to ALEXIS she advised she works with her mom in the area and was curious about police in the area. I then talked to her about the role of a Beat officer. I then talked to her about what she does for work. I then gave my ALEXIS a business card, and I advised her to email me or give me a call if she has any issues or questions.

I then made contact with Cindy while on a business check. Upon talking to CINDY we began talking about the baking she does at home. When then talked about the type of cookies and other desserts that she cooks. I then provided her with my business card and told him to email me or give me a call if he has any issues or questions.  

Goals Accomplished:

This month I accomplished one of my goals, which is making contact with people within my Beat.  I have also started to build a professional relationship with the business owners in my Beat. I also was able to inform the Richmond Citizens of strategies for crime prevention while talking to the Citizens I meet during my public Safety Contacts.

Goals Next Month:

My goal is to make contact with business within my Beat and inform them of better security practices. Another goal I have is to follow up with citizens from prior Beat contacts. I going check on all the bars located within the Beat.  Another goal I have is to do more Beat-oriented patrols in the evening during my shift. Another goal is to continue to interact with more younger members of the community to encourage them to call the police when they see something and to show them law enforcement are not bad people. Another goal I have is to inform the Richmond Citizens of strategies for crime prevention.
