Beat 14 encompasses 18 businesses and one senior apartment complex located on the west and east side of FM 359, ranging from the 500 block to the 1700 block. Two businesses are located off Mason Road. Currently a new building is being erected which will house International Leadership of Texas – Richmond, which is a charter school.

During the month of November, I met with 3 residents in my Beat and also made contact with a business.

The first resident I met was Angela who was getting her exercise walking around the complex. Angela stated she has been living at her residence for about 10 years. Angela stated she did not have any issues except for safety concerns of the unsecured doors to the buildings and the gate breaking sometimes. I advised her that I would bring it up to the manager when I spoke to her. I also explain to her when the gates break, or they see someone in the complex to contact the police to do a property check. I gave Angela my business card and advised her to contact me if she has any questions or issues.    

The second resident I made contact with was Diana Houston who was walking her dog. Houston stated she has been living at the complex since they opened about 12 years ago. Houston stated she did not have any issues. Houston did however bring up the same security concerns as Angela. I then provided Houton with my business card to contact me with any questions or issues.

The third resident I made contact with was Debbie Mccarrol who was arriving at her apartment. Mccarrol stated she was trying to speak to me yesterday when she seen us walking through the complex. Mccarrol was walking her pit bull yesterday at the church next door. Before Mccarrol could tell us if she had any issues, we had to respond to a disturbance call and had to end our contact.    

Also, this month I made contact with Tej at Vape N More addressed as 924 FM 359. Tej stated that he was just covering for his sister who is the manager of this location. I provide Tej with a business contact form to have his sister complete it. Tej stated that he was not aware of any issue at this time. Business was closed when I attempted to make contact for the contact form the next day.  

Beat 14 does not have any register sex offenders.  

Goals Accomplished:

This month I made contact with Tej at Vape N More addressed as 924 FM 359 but was unable to get the business form completed.

Goals Next Month:

My goal is to make contact with more businesses and have them update their business contact information. Another goal is to continue to interact with more younger members of the community to encourage them to call the police when they see something and to show them law enforcement are not bad people.
