Beat 14 encompasses 18 businesses and one senior apartment complex located on the west and east side of FM 359, ranging from the 500 block to the 1700 block. Two businesses are located off Mason Road. Currently a new building is being erected which will house International Leadership of Texas – Richmond, which is a charter school.

During the month of April, I met with 3 residents of the apartment complex and a business employee in my beat.

The first resident we met with was Maggie Cruz who was coming back from playing bingo when I made contact with her. CRUZ stated she has been living at her residence for 10 years. CRUZ stated she did not have any issues at this time. CRUZ then began speaking about issue of the lighting in some area of the complex which I advised I would speak to the manage about it. CRUZ stated she was glad to see an officer walking the complex. I gave CRUZ my business card and advised her to contact me if she has any issues or questions.     

 The second resident I made contact with was Linda Alon- Alon who also coming back from playing bingo.  ALON- ALON stated she has been living at her current residence for 2 years. ALON- ALON stated she did not have any issues at this time. I gave ALON-ALON my business card and told her to contact me if she has any issues or questions.   

The third resident I met was Thomas Hatch who was walking around the complex. HATCH is a Vietnam veteran and was thanked for his service. Hatch then told me his story of how he was drafted. HATCH stated he has been living at his current resident for 6 years. HATCH stated he did not have any issues at this time. I gave HATCH my business card and advised him to contact me if he has any questions or issues.  

I then made contact with Brooklyn Brown who is  a cashier for Ace Hardware located at 11818 Mason Rd. BROWN stated that everything has been good and that they did not have any issues. BROWN stated she has been working for ACE for 5 years. I then gave BROWN my Business card and advised her to contact me if she has any issue or problems.

Beat 14 does not have any register sex offenders.   

Goals Accomplished:

This month I did make contact with a business employee at ACE hardware on Mason Rd.

Goals Next Month:

My goal is to make contact with more businesses and have them update their business contact information. Another goal is to continue to interact with more younger members of the community to encourage them to call the police when they see something and to show them law enforcement are not bad people.
