May 2026
Beat 10 is a mainly commercial and non-profit area which also involves multiple subdivisions residences in the area. The boundaries of Beat 10 are south of the Y.M.C.A. to the city limits and east of FM 762/Thompson Highway to the Brazos River. The common names for the subdivisions in this area are Hillcrest Estates, Country Club Estates, Bayou Estates, Ironwood Forest, Bonham Acres, Jane Long Farms, and a portion of Veranda.

During the month of May, I met with several citizens. Farha is an employee of the Richmond Walmart and told me she likes working there. She stated she is of Pakistani descent, lived a substantial portion of her life in France and that she speaks Urdu, Arabic, French, and English. She appreciated me stopping in and chatting and said she likes to see a police presence in Walmart.
The second citizen that I met was Steve Beckvar, a resident of the Fountains at Jane Long subdivision. Steve was pressure washing his sidewalk, and we chatted briefly. I asked him if there is anything the police should be doing more or less of, and what his assessment was of safety in the area. Steve told me he feels safe in Fountains and did not have any specific complaints or issues requiring police attention.
Alma Guzman was the third citizen that I met in May, and she also is a resident of Fountains at Jane Long. Alma was reserved and did not spend too much time talking with me. She told me that “everything is fine” when I asked her if there were any issues that needed police attention in the neighborhood.
Goals Accomplished:
During the month of May the goals accomplished were a focused effort on traffic enforcement along the Thompson Road/FM 762 Corridor, as well as the intersections of FM 1640/Golfview and FM 1640/ FM 2218.
Goals Next Month:
For the month of May, I intend to focus on traffic enforcement along the heavy traffic corridors of Richmond, as well as the school zones in and around Beat 10. Frequent property checks at Walmart seem to be reducing calls for shoplifters, and I intend to continue with this strategy.

This month, I made it a goal to continue building relationships with residents and maintaining a visible presence throughout the Jane Long Farms community.
While conducting patrols, I met Juanita outside her residence on Golden Creek Ln. We had a pleasant conversation about the neighborhood and the recent growth in the area. Juanita stated that she enjoys living in the community and appreciates seeing patrol officers regularly. I thanked her for taking the time to speak with me, provided her with my business card, and encouraged her to contact me if she ever had any concerns.
Later in the month, I met Mr. Ruger while patrolling through the neighborhood. We discussed community safety and the importance of residents reporting suspicious activity. Mr. Ruger stated that he enjoys living in Jane Long Farms and had no major concerns at the time of our conversation. I provided him with my business card and advised him to reach out if he needed assistance in the future.
Additionally, I met with Mrs. Garcia while conducting patrols in the area. We spoke about neighborhood activities and ways residents can help keep the community safe. Mrs. Garcia mentioned that she occasionally notices vehicles traveling above the posted speed limit on nearby streets. I advised her that I would continue to monitor the area during patrols and address any traffic-related concerns when observed.
Overall, the month was productive, and I was able to make several positive contacts with residents throughout Beat 10. I will continue to maintain a visible presence in the Jane Long Farms community, address resident concerns, and strengthen relationships with community members through proactive patrol and engagement.
Goals Accomplished:
I want to significantly increase my traffic enforcement throughout the month. I almost doubled the amount of traffic stops from the previous month, while still being able to take calls for service.
Goals Next Month:
For June I want to find a business in my Beat and try to organize some type of community event in the near future.
