Beat 1 is in the North Richmond area. Beat 1 is everything North of Clay Street within the City limits. This area of town is commonly known as the “Heights”. This beat includes a business known as Heights Mini Mart and includes George Park.

Officer Rivera

During the month of April, I did not observe any major issues in my beat.  As I was patrolling the area, I met with Jasmine Ruiz.  Jasmine stated she was new to the area.  I advised Jasmine that I was the beat officer assigned to this area.  I asked if she had any concerns about the area, she stated she did not have any concerns at the moment.  I handed my officer’s business card with my email on it so she could send me an email if she ever had any concerns about the area. 

I also met Richardo Contreras as I was conducting a property check at Walmart.  Richardo stated he delivers in the area.  I asked if he had any issues or concerns and he stated no.  I advised Richardo to call the Richmond police department if he had any concerns or questions. 

While patrolling around the planet fitness, I met with Donovan Garza.  Donovan stated he lives in the area and goes to the gym a lot.  Donovan stated he feels safe and enjoys the new location.  I asked Donovan if he has any issues and he stated not at the moment.  I advised him to call the Richmond Police Department if he ever had any issues. 

 Goals Accomplished:

Patrolled the area that my beat covers to make sure there is no problems or crime happening. 

Goals Next Month:

My goal for the next few months is to conduct more property checks with in the neighborhood.

 Officer Ina 

During the month of April, I began my month with being assigned to evening shift and my beat. I patrolled the entirety of Beat one focusing on reducing speeding along Collins Rd. I have noticed several vehicles entering and exiting George Park at rates of speed. My goal is to be visible to all entering and exiting beat #1 and proactively patrolling Beat #1, so that there is a stop to careless driving.

Goals Next Month: My goal for the next month is to meet with citizens of my beat and introduce myself to them as their new beat officer. It is also my goal to conduct foot patrols within my beat, along with a more aggressive focus on traffic control.
