Beat 1 is in the North Richmond area. Beat 1 is everything North of Clay Street within the City limits. This area of town is commonly known as the “Heights”. This beat includes a business known as Heights Mini Mart and includes George Park.

During the month of August, I did not observe any major issues in my Beat.  There is still one lane closed off on Clay Street for construction. 

While patrolling my Beat, I met Danis Flores.  I introduced myself as the Beat officer for the area and asked if he has any issues or concerns at this time, he said he appreciates seeing the officers responsive to the area at night.  He said the area has changed for the best over the past few years.  I left Mr. Flores my business card and encouraged him to contact me with any comments or concerns he may have.

As I was patrolling George Park, I also met Raquel Gonzales. I introduced myself and advised Raquel that I was the Beat officer assigned to the area.  Raquel stated she grew up in Richmond and stated Richmond has changed a lot.  I asked if she had any concerns with the area and Raquel advised she did not have any concerns now and felt safe being in the area.  I handed Raquel a business card with my email on it and the phone number to the Richmond Police Department so she could contact Richmond PD if he ever had any concerns about the area in the future. 

While out on a property check at the Crave Way, I met Rodolfo Osuvio and introduced myself as the Beat Officer for the area.   Rodolfo advised he lived in the area for a few years now.  I asked Rodolfo if he had any issues or concerns about the area and he stated he did not have any issues.   A business card with my email and Richmond Police Dept phone number was given to Rodolfo and I advised him to call the Richmond Police Department if he ever had any issues. 

The Registered Sex Offender residing in Beat one is currently incarcerated.

Goals Accomplished:

Patrolled the area that my Beat covers to make sure there is no problems or crime happening. 

Goals Next Month:

My goal for the next few months is to conduct more property checks within the neighborhood.
