New Permitting Customer Portal Beginning October 14th
The City of Richmond is excited to announce the launch of the MyGovernmentOnline customer portal platform starting on October 14th. The MGO customer portal enhances how the City of Richmond process your permits and licenses, and allows you to:
-Apply for permits and licenses online
-Track the status of your project
-Request inspections online
-Pay online
-Download permit and license placards
-Receive notifications
-Manage your projects in one place
Beginning October 14th, all new permit and license applications will be processed though the MyGovernmentOnline portal. Please go to https://mgoconnect.org/cp/info-account to create an account. From there you can search for Richmond as your jurisdiction. Please click here to access a variety of articles to help get familiarized with the new portal. We appreciate your patience throughout this process as we move to serve you better.

Residential Rental Property Registration
Richmond City Commission adopted an ordinance, effective January 1, 2023, requiring all owner-occupied residences used as residential rental property and multifamily rental properties in the City of Richmond to be registered and adhere to regulatory measures. The City of Richmond's primary concern is to know property owners and implement public safety for safe occupancy of all residences in the city.
