(Richmond, Texas)- Richmond City Commission approved a Construction Contract for Phase 1 Street Rehabilitation Project to Ballew Construction LLC. for $3,594,536.75 to re-construct Teakwood, Chestnut, Mulberry and a portion of Cedar Streets in the City of Richmond.

This project is part of the 2020 Fort Bend Mobility Bond with Fort Bend County paying 75% of eligible project costs for the street rehabilitation. The scope of work includes removal of asphalt street and curb, to replace with concrete curb and gutter; installation of new storm sewer infrastructure; new sidewalk on both sides of street with wheelchair ramps; water line offsets installed where needed; new lateral sewer leads and water services crossing the street where needed.

This project aligns with the City’s Comprehensive Master Plan to rehabilitate and preserve Richmond’s existing neighborhoods and community assets.
