Post Date:01/22/2026

Weather Watch!

An Arctic cold front is expected to reach Texas Friday into Saturday. Wintry precipitation is expected to begin in the Panhandle and NW Texas early Friday and steadily move south into North Texas Friday evening/overnight and Central/Southeast Texas Friday night/early Saturday. Wintry precipitation may be approaching I-10 by Saturday afternoon. Exact timing of timing/amounts of winter precipitation remains uncertain; though overall confidence is increasing in areas with most impactful weather.

● By Sunday, snow, sleet and freezing rain impacting as far south as southern/southeastern Texas.

● Frigid morning lows on Sunday & Monday mornings. This may lead to additional impacts if there are power outages.

Please remember to protect People, Pets, Pipes and Plants. There may be ice on the roads so please do not drive unless necessary. The City of Richmond's Emergency Operation Center (EOC) will continue to monitor and update the situation throughout the event.
