(Richmond, Texas)- Richmond City Commission adopted the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget, set to begin on October 1st, at the September 15th Commission meeting. This budget, totaling $58.6 million, not only ensures the provision of excellent City services, but also marks a reduction in the Tax Rate by 0.01 cent, lowering it from $0.640000 to $0.630000. Richmond has consistently demonstrated a trend of decreasing the Tax Rate over the past fourteen years while ensuring the budget continues supporting essential City services.
The budget was prepared strategically to meet the City’s needs as the City continues to grow,
while allowing for flexibility to ensure excellent operational and service levels are maintained. This approach provides for an increase in salaries, competitive wages to attract a quality workforce, continued focus on capital improvement projects such as street improvements, rehabilitation of water lines and various enhancements to infrastructure to include surface water projects, and water and wastewater projects.
