Richmond Accepts Grant for Police Department In-Car Cameras
Richmond City Commission took action to accept a grant award for the purchase of 14 in-car cameras, mobile video replacement for the Richmond Police Department. The City commission authorized a budget amendment in the amount of $85,837.25 which will be reimbursed in accordance with the grant terms. The City was not required to match funds for this grant.
The new units will allow the police department to replace its current inventory of in car cameras that have reached end of useful life and are in need of replacement. This grant award is big for the City as it accelerated the replacement program for in car cameras which had been planned for upcoming years.
