Update: Asphalt Milling & Ovelay Project Continues Monday, January 29th On N. 10th Street and Follows Schedule of North side Streets Through The Week.
The Asphalt Milling and Overlay project, awarded to James Construction at the November 13th Commission meeting, will begin on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018. A ‘mill & overlay’ is a street maintenance technique that requires the removal of the top surface of a street, by the grinding of 2 inches of the asphalt surface with a milling machine, and replacing 2 inches of new layer of asphalt.
Residents will see this work beginning Tuesday with N.10th St from rail road tracks to Clay Street, followed by Clay St. from N. 2nd St. to Collins Rd. Next step will be Collins Road, from Clay St to Waterbury Blvd (George Park), followed by Powell St. from N. 10th St to Collins Rd.
These streets will have limited access during work hours 7 am. to 7 pm. We ask for your patience during this project and ask you limit your travels in the work areas. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Assistant Director of Public Works- Jim Whitehead at JWhitehead@richmondtx.gov.
