City of Richmond Amends Building Code To Include Contractor Registration
At this week’s special commission meeting , the City of Richmond took steps to protect citizens during Hurricane Harvey’s recovery. The City has amended its’ building code to include an Ordinance requiring contractors to register their business with the City, if doing business within the City limits of Richmond, effective immediately. This process will not incurr fees but is deemed in the public interest to have information relating to identification and insurance should problems arise from work performed. A contractor must have registration in order to pull building permits for the work performed.
This ordinance does not apply to work performed by family, friends, church communities and other help organizations.
