Fort Bend History Association Presents to Development Corporation Board
about name change beginning of Summer
Development Corporation of Richmond received a presentation from Claire Rogers, Executive Director of Fort Bend History Association, at the July Board meeting. She shared the changes with the Fort Bend Museum Association name which became official at the beginning of the summer.
The Fort Bend County Museum Association is now the Fort Bend History Association! Chartered in 1967, the Association is celebrating its’ 50th anniversary this year. After much deliberation about how they should be branded going into their next 50 years, the Association Board chose the name Fort Bend History Association to reflect their mission of preserving the history of Fort Bend County and educating the public about their rich heritage.
The new name and brand were unveiled earlier this summer as part of the Association's 50th anniversary celebration. Inspired by Texas' colorful history, their Director of Marketing, Jennifer Farrell, created the new brand in vibrant colors to showcase each of the sites or organizations under the Association's umbrella:
Fort Bend Museum & Docents
George Ranch Historical Park
Fort Bend Archeological Society
DeWalt Heritage Center
Texian Time Machine
