Friday Afternoon Update
Good Afternoon Richmond,
Just a little update! The Citizen’s Information and Recovery Center is active at Riveredge and US 90A. This center is for residents who reside within the Richmond city limits. The Red Cross is helping with supplies, and City of Richmond employees are on hand to answer questions about recovery after this incident. This center is for victims of the flood. If you live in the Richmond city limits and were not affected by high water, please be courteous and let us help the victims of this flood event.
As we see the Fire and Police Departments in action, we often forget about the behind the scenes people. All employees of the City of Richmond are helping with this event. Our Street Department has been very instrumental in helping us keep the city mobile during this event. The Permits Department has been answering phones throughout the flood. They are now working out at the recovery information center. We will remain at your service throughout the remainder of this event. The safety and welfare of our citizens is our number one concern.
The river is going down very slowly. Please be careful as you go out and about. I am including some pictures of the recovery center in action. City Manager, Terri Vela was on hand to answer questions for our residents. The center will remain open until 2:00 PM and the re-open at 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
