Job Summary: Under basic supervision, performs skilled/specialized inspection and plan review work involving the interpretation and enforcement of codes and regulations for both building and health & safety issues and performs related work, as required.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent; two years’ experience in a construction related field, or an Associate’s degree may substitute for the required experience. Possession of a valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License. Residential/Commercial or Combination Inspector certification is required. Certified Plumbing Inspector through TSBPE preferred. Fire Inspector I certification is required within 12 months of hire.
Pay Scale: F-2 Based on Certifications and Qualifications
Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Qualified applicants may complete a City of Richmond Fire Department Employment Application. Application may be obtained at Richmond City Hall, 402 Morton St. Richmond, TX or by downloading from city website www.richmondtx.gov. Completed applications and resume may be submitted to the Human Resources Department at City Hall.
