Job Summary: Under basic supervision, performs skilled/specialized inspection and plan review work involving the interpretation and enforcement of codes and regulations for both building and plumbing issues and performs related work, as required.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent; two years’ experience in a construction related field, or an Associate’s degree may substitute for the required experience. Possession of a valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License. Residential/Commercial or Combination Inspector certification is preferred. Licensed Plumbing Inspector through TSBPE required. Basic Fire Inspector certification through TCFP is required within 12 months of hire. Basic Fire Investigator cerfification through TCFP is required within 12 months of hire.
Pay Scale: F-2 Based on Certifications and Qualifications
Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Qualified applicants may complete a City of Richmond Fire Department Employment Application which may be obtained at Richmond City Hall, 402 Morton St. Richmond, TX or by downloading application from city website www.richmondtx.gov. Completed applications and resume may be submitted to the Human Resources Department at City Hall.
